No changes are required ... but ... and it a very large ... BUT ... the application must be well written and capable of scaling on an SMP box too.

RAC has the ability to perform what I call the spotlight effect. It shines a very bright light on bad designs and bad coding practices. And does so by slowing to a crawl.

I would never buy an application for RAC without first testing it in a RAC environment and having the vendor guarantee, IN WRITING, that they will take it back, no questions asked, if it does not meet your needs.
